Still life - Cordelia Tam Solo Exhibition

During my stay in Kyoto, I collected flyers from different places and kept daily food packaging, so they became my materials and moulds.

 

I sorted out those flyers with similar colours and blended them into paper paste.  They were put in different moulds to dry naturally. The earth tone paper sculptures created were presented in the form of still life.

 

Sill life can be a mirror of the society or the soul, a rediscovery of quotidian objects or an expression that coalesces light, color and form into synchronous relationship.  The work conveys my impression of the serene lifestyle and colours of Kyoto
