Paper Rock
Paper Rock, 2019 paper pulp, Chinese Ink, metal plate, 30 x 85x 85 cm
Scholar rocks are rich in geological, cultural and philosophical notions. The absorption of ink is the outcome of the flow of capillary action, where human mediates the setup and flow automatically operates. The result is calm visuals conveying Taoist notions of complementary opposites like stillness and flow, void and full, black and white, yin and yang.
